FAQ

Are you guys dating?

Nope.

What hardware/software do you use?

We both use Adobe Premiere Pro for videos, and Audacity for recording non-live audio. We use OBS to stream and Streamlabs for widgets/donations on OBS. We generally try to use the same software to keep our content consistent, although right now we have agreed that Arrow will do a lot of the behind the scenes/production work while Rae will focus more on the streaming and interactions with other people.

Arrow: For computer/production/whatnot, I use a Macbook Pro 2019 and HP 27in IPS Micro-edge monitor to dual screen. I sometimes use Garageband to edit our audio since I know how to use it better to edit than Audacity. For gaming stuff, I use an Elgato HD60S+ capture card, Asus VG245H 24-inch monitor, Blue Snowball Ice microphone, Logitech Z150 2-piece speakers for my gaming monitor, and usually a Pro Controller. I have two Switch docks in the case I want to be social and play with my roommates on our TV. I still need headphones.

Rae: I’m currently using a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 to stream and edit videos, but I will soon be upgrading my laptop to a beefy gaming laptop so I can stop straining my eyes trying to edit videos on a tiny screen. I have an Elgato HD60S, and I currently do not have a dedicated mic and instead use my SteelSeries Arctis 3 headset to record audio. I use Joy Cons in the Joy Con Grip because I have tiny baby hands and the Pro Controller is uncomfortable to hold.

What are the main hex color codes used in the graphics?

Our three main colors are #ff2b75,#ffdf2d, and #0cbddd. There are a few exceptions when Arrow is making video thumbnails and is too lazy to get the exact color for the graphics, so she just eyedrops something AR and grabs the closest color.

Why did you pick these colors for Array Ink?

The color we started with was pink, since both of our avatars are Octolings and it’s more or less the Octoling’s main color, considering Splatoon 2’s Hero Mode (the enemy ink color) and Octo Expansion (the player character’s color.) From there, we decided on a yellow and light blue to complement. We considered green, but felt that it would be too hard on the eyes and perhaps too Splatoony.
